David Garrett live at o2 World Berlin
David Garrett, the superstar among violin players, is to return to the O2 World Berlin and play his third concert on 11 October 2014. The 33-year-old will not only be presenting his world famous versions of hits such as Nirvana’s "Smells Like Teen Spirit”, but also parts of his brand new album "Garrett vs. Paganini”.
The Aachen-born musician aims to get young people enthusiastic about classical music and created his unique sound by mixing elements of pop, rock, rhythm & blues. His debut album "Virtuoso” was released in 2007, its follow-up "Encore” contained an alternative version of Michael Jackson’s "Smooth Criminal” merging into Mozart’s "Turkish March”.His greatest success however has been "Rock Symphonies”, released in 2010. The album made it to the top of the German longplayer charts, and Garrett himself considers it his most extraordinary and ambitious record to date.
With the movie "Paganini: The Devil's Violinist”, Garrett made his dream of working as an actor come true. He does not only play the starring role, but composed the orchestral arrangements of the Paginini-pieces, which can also be heard at his latest album "Garrett vs. Paganini”.
Needless to say, Garrett won’t fail to impress the audience on 11 October 2014 with his more than 200-year old Stradivari.
