With a new head coach and new playmakers, ALBA BERLIN is ready for the 2017/2018 season!

Alejandro “Aito” Garcia, one of the most renowned European basketball personalities, has joined the club as new head coach. The Spanish coaching legend will be working with one of the youngest teams in the club’s history, consisting of both new signings as well as regulars who have been a part of ALBA BERLIN for years. 

Spencer Butterfield, Dennis Clifford, Kresimir Nikic, Marius Grigonis, Luke Sikma and Joshiko Saibou are new onboard the ALBA BERLIN organization. At the same time, regulars such as Niels Giffey, Peyton Siva, Akeem Vargas and Bogdan Radosavljevic will continue to wear the ALBA BERLIN jersey in the 2017/2018 season. 

This year, the team will compete in both the German League and the Eurocup, Europe’s second highest international league. For nine seasons in a row, ALBA BERLIN has at least advanced to the Top 16 of either the EuroCup or the Euroleague – a streak the team is seeking to extent this year. In the group phase of the EuroCup, ALBA BERLIN faces Partizan NIS Belgrade, Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar, Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius, Limoges CSP and Bilbao Basket.
